I just walked out of my studio and down the street and dropped my ballot in the mailbox on the corner. I took a big deep breath, and looked up at the blue of the sky.
I want to share with you all some things I plan to do in the next 12 days and would love to hear what you are doing. It’s going to take all of us stepping up for this last push!
1) Remind my friends and family to vote and make sure they are informed about voting in their state.
2) Mail postcards until October 26th with postcards to voters
3) Make calls, text for important races in key states
4) Send in some last donations to FairFight, Swing Left, and Movement Voter Project
5) Hang some of these free downloadable images around my neighborhood reminding people to vote.
Two things I would do if I didn’t have small kids:
1) Consider canvassing in a nearby swing state (or your own) if it’s safe and possible (Google your state and issue or candidate).
2) Consider volunteering to be a poll worker – there are a shortage of poll workers this year and a need for folks to show up as poll watchers to reduce voter intimidation concerns.
A friend got me to join the Election Sanity Challenge through the Ten Percent Happier app but I also think I may rely on trying to be outside as most as possible to keep anxiety in check.
Let’s do this! See you on the other side.
