I had the joy of collaborating with all 400 K–5th grade students at a Berkeley Public School to transform an old shipping container into a vibrant mural.
From the very first brainstorming session to the final brushstroke, students had a hand in the process. Together, we sketched ideas, experimented with colors, and painted side by side—turning their creative vision into a lasting work of art.
The finished mural reflects the heart of their school community: students of all backgrounds standing together beneath a rainbow, a symbol of unity, joy, and inclusion. Today, it brightens the play yard and serves as a daily reminder of what can be achieved when creativity and collaboration come together.
I specialize in collaborative murals like this one that bring students, teachers, and communities into the creative process. Projects like this not only beautify school spaces but also empower students by giving them ownership of the spaces they inhabit every day.
If your school or organization is interested in creating something meaningful and lasting with your students, I’d love to collaborate. Together, we can turn blank walls (or even shipping containers!) into works of art that celebrate community and imagination.
